Over the past five years, we’ve expanded our structural engineering team and client base across the U.S. and Canada. We are now seeking a Civil and Structural Engineer I to join our team in Houston.

Salary Range: $60,000-75,000, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Focused on the design of structures which includes calculating the loads and stresses in materials and structures
  • Prepares engineering design and documents and confirming specifications
  • Designs projects by studying project concept, drawings and models
  • Produces engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans and schedules
  • Ability to apply principles of mechanics, mathematics and physics to produce design calculations and oversee the production of drawings
  • Provide critical inputs to the CAD technicians for rendering project drawings
  • Analyzing survey, mapping and materials-testing data with computer modeling software
  • Technical adequacy of work is reviewed on completion
Requirements:    
  • 1-2 years of experience in U.S. civil / construction engineering field in the U.S.
  • Ability to create structural steel and reinforced concrete plans (plan views and sections)
  • Experience analyzing survey, mapping and materials-testing data with computer modeling
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis Software (RISA), AutoCAD, Word and Excel
  • Ability to work independently and in a group
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented, motivated and must think proactively
  • Able to prioritize projects as well as multitask
  • Fluent in English
Education:
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in civil / structural engineering
  • The practical experience sufficient to perform the duties listed above
Additional Details:
  • Considering only full-time candidates
  • Business hours: Mon - Thu (7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.); all Fridays off
